Stop Telling People How Stressed You Are!
October 15, 2019

When we are stressed, we tend talk about it.
“I have so much to do”, “There isn’t enough time”, "It’s never ending"
When we share our anxieties, which makes us feel better in the moment, it makes people around us feel worse.
Like a contagion, stress can spread. To manage stress better and to help those around you, change how you talk when you are frazzled. Don’t just tell people you are stressed, think about and tell them what you are doing about it.
Will you stop checking emails on the weekend? Will you take more walks at lunch time? Will you go to bed earlier and get more sleep? Whatever it is, make it part of the conversation. You can also ask the people around you what has worked for them in the past. Discussing strategies will create a positive more supportive environment.
Exercise, especially boxing, can help reduce the stresses of work and family life.
Boxing improves your physical fitness by using many different muscles. It will also help to increase muscle tone and build strong bones and ligaments. In boxing, punching bags provide resistance and the joints, tendons and ligaments will get stronger in response to working against that resistance.
A boxing class at enerG+ involves full body movement. When you throw punches a large number of muscles are contracting at the same time. This makes your heart and lungs work overtime to pump blood containing oxygen all around your body. Boxing also requires lots of fast rotational movements so your core muscles will also develop to allow you to punch hard without losing your balance!
Want increased strength and power? Boxing is the ultimate full body workout. With the correct technique, those punches use your legs, hips, glutes, core, obliques, back, shoulders, chest and arms. Punching against resistance causes all of these muscles to contract with more force and speed developing your strength and power.
Sure, boxing is a wonderful physical activity that can help you get in shape, but it has psychological benefits too. Hitting stuff can make you feel really good! It will release pent-up tension in a healthy way. It will leave you feeling with a sense of achievement and ready to tackle whatever gets thrown your way!
Boxing will also increase your self-confidence. When you master a technique or a combination of punches it will do wonders for your self-esteem. That noise you hear when you land a strong, accurate punch right on the sweet spot of that bag, it is so satisfying!
