Recipes to keep you healthy & warm this winter
In this colder weather a healthy salad just doesn't always hit the spot so here's 2 recipes from a friend of enerG+ boxing & pilates studio, Dietitian & Nutritionist David Finn.

Thai Beef Stir-Fry
2 tsp olive oil
200g Heart Smart beef stir-fry strips
1 carrot, cut into short thin sticks
1 red capsicum, cut into thin strips
½ stalk lemongrass, white part only, finely chopped
2cm piece of fresh ginger, thin sticks
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tbs soy sauce
1 tbs lime juice
½ red chilli, seeds removed, chopped
1 cup bean sprouts
1 cup fresh coriander leaves
1 cup fresh mint leaves
150g cooked brown or wild rice
Add 1 tbs of oil to a wok on high heat. Add beef and stir-fry for 1-2 mins.
Heat remaining oil over medium high heat. Add carrots, capsicum, lemongrass, chilli, ginger and garlic. Stir-fry for 2 mins. Add soy sauce and lime juice. Toss well.
Return beef and toss through. Remove from heat and toss in half the coriander and mint. Serve with remaining coriander, mint and rice.

Spaghetti Bolognaise
500g mince meat
1 brown onion, chopped
2 carrots, diced
1 apple, diced
Hand full of green beans, diced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
4 tomatoes, diced
1 small tub of tomato paste Italian Herbs
1 Pack of Slim Pasta-Spaghetti or Pulse Pasta
Brown onion and garlic in pan. Add mince, cook until brown. Add vegetables and apple, stir for 2-3 minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and herbs. Salt and pepper to taste.
Make up Slim Pasta to packet directions. Stir through mince and serve.
