School Holidays and Healthy Kids
We all know the importance of children being healthy and active. But did you know that children should be doing at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activities every day? Encouraging this from an early age helps set good habits and leading by example makes it even easier for kids to see the importance of physical activity.
Regular physical activity helps kids and teens:
with healthy growth and development
build strong bones and muscles
improve balance and develop skills
maintain and develop flexibility
achieve and maintain a healthy weight
improve cardiovascular fitness
reduce stress and feel more relaxed
improve posture
boost confidence and self-esteem
have fun with their friends and make new ones
Without enough physical activity children are at a higher risk of being overweight or obese and this can lead to all sorts of other problems such as asthma, joint sprains or even Type 2 diabetes and liver disease in teenagers as young as 15.
Here at enerG+ we know the importance of kids developing healthy habits early on and having fun while they are doing it. This is why we developed our school holiday KidzBox sessions. A fun session where kids can try out some boxing, start developing healthy habits and have fun while they do it. Sessions are running:
Wed 3rd Oct 3-3:30pm Fri 5th Oct 10-10:30am Mon 8th Oct 11-11:30am Wed 10th Oct 3-3:30pm

There are plenty of other activities throughout Adelaide during the holidays that encourage kids to get up and moving.
Belair National Park Adventure Playground
The Belair National Park is a great place to get outside, breathe in some fresh air and enjoy nature. The Adventure Playground is surrounded by 800 hectares of bushland, so there is so much for the kids to do!
Adelaide Zoo
A day at the zoo is fun for the whole family! And during the school holidays Wild Imagination will have nature-based activities from 11am-1pm daily (only on weekdays, not weekends) for the kids to enjoy. And after you’re done with the zoo for the day, why not take a walk through the Botanic Gardens!
Pumpt
Have you and the kids tried out Pumpt yet? Pumpt is an indoor BMX, scooter and skate park. Great for all weather and they also have a café, so you can enjoy a coffee while the kids ride away!
